Driver Service by Tuk-Tuk
Our Tuk-Tuk vehicles can seat up to 3 x regular sized guests per trip and is the best way to visit the vineyards of Franschhoek.
The service will operate 7 days a week with the following departure times.
Please note – we only work on a first come – first serve basis, so pre-bookings are essential.

13h30 to 17h00
We are closed on 25 December, 26 December and 1 January
Our 6 seater vehicles will arrive in 2016.
We only have the above operating hours with the Franschhoek Tuk-Tuk, so this gives you 3.5 hours to visit as many wine estates as you can fit into the allotted time.
We offer you 2 very exciting offers.
1. Private Driver Option
The Private Driver option offers you Half Day and Full Day options to visit and explore the wine estates of Franschhoek.
With the Private Driver Option you have a driver who will stay with you for the duration of your day.
Essentially non-guided, you driver will offer some information about the area, the wines and the estates that you wish to visit.
At the wine estates the driver will introduce you to the tasting room staff who will then tell you more about their estate as well as the wines.
The various departure times are as follow:
Half Day
09h00 to 12h30 OR 13h30 to 1700
The rates are R895 per half day per 3 seater vehicle (if you are 2 or 3 guests the rate is still only R895).
You can visit as many wine estates as you please within the allotted times.
The rate exclude all the wine tasting fees, but a few estates offer free wine tasting or waivers the fee on any purchase (which is not a bad idea at all as we have amazing wine in the region).
Full Day
10h00 to 17h00
The rates are R1790 per full day per 3 seater vehicle (if you are 2 or 3 guests the rate is still only R1790).
You can visit as many wine estates as you can fit into the allotted time.
The rate excludes all the wine tasting fees, but a few estates offer free wine tasting or waivers the fee on any purchase (which is not a bad idea at all as we have amazing wine in the region).
Lunch, picnic or snacks will also be for your own account.
Pre-bookings are essential throughout the year.
2. Hop As You Go Service
The Hop As You Go Service is essentially an Hop On – Hop Off service operated by us.
It works on the principle that you are collected from where you are staying and then you are taken to wine estates / restaurants / places of interest of your own choice and then dropped off for you to enjoy.
Once you are ready to be collected to go to your next appointment you can just phone the Tuk-Tuk driver (if you have not confirmed a collection time when you were dropped off) and he will collect you again within minutes.
This service offers you the most freedom to move around as you please.
Half Day
09h00 to 12h30 OR 13h30 to 17h00
The rates are R325 per person (minimum 2 guests)
You can visit as many places of interest as you wish within the allotted times.
We have 20 wine estates, 27 restaurants and many places of interest on our list of possible establishments to visit.
Please ask us for a list of wine estates, restaurants and places of interest to visit should you be interested in this option.
The rates excludes all tasting fees (many estates offer free tastings), snacks and entrance fees.
Full Day
10h00 to 17h00
The rates are R610 per person (minimum 2 guests)
You can visit as many places of interest as you wish within the allotted times.
We have 20 wine estates, 27 restaurants and many places of interest on our list of possible establishments to visit.
Please ask us for a list of wine estates, restaurants and places of interest to visit should you be interested in this option.
The rates excludes all tasting fees (many estates offer free tastings), snacks, entrance fees and lunch.
Pre-bookings are essential throughout the year.
The above 2 options excludes all tasting fees (please view below in pink), snack platters, etc which will be for your own account.
You will, however, be collected and dropped off from all centrally located hotels and guest houses in the Franschhoek area.
The Franschhoek Tuk-Tuk is operated as a Driver service and is essentially non-guided (your driver will, however, offer some information).
Your driver is very knowledgeable about the Franschhoek area as well as the wine industry and will be able to answer questions that you might have.
The tasting room staff at the wine estates will explain everything about their wine estate and the wines which they offer.
The Driver option is ideal for guests that would like to plan their own day (we can assist you of course), plan a picnic or just want a fun day out.
Please note that the tasting fees vary from totally Free to up to R50 per estate.
In most cases the estates will waive the tasting fee if you purchase one bottle of wine (not such a bad idea anyway).
